S. Faridah
Petaling Jaya, Selangor
I came in with very little idea of what to expect from a Syariah divorce proceeding. The practitioner took time to explain the process step by step, and the written summary afterwards meant I could review it later when I was calmer. I did not feel pushed in any direction.

T. Krishnamurthy
Cheras, Kuala Lumpur
The civil divorce and custody arrangement was handled over several months. My practitioner was consistent throughout — same person every time, which mattered because I did not want to repeat everything from the beginning at each meeting. The mediation approach saved a lot of time and stress.

L. Wai Ling
Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur
I engaged the comprehensive counsel arrangement because my situation involved both matrimonial property and an ongoing custody review. Having someone who knows the background of the matter and is available when things shift has been genuinely useful — not something I expected to value as much as I do.

A. Zulaikha
Shah Alam, Selangor
The initial consultation at RM 260 felt like the right first step — low commitment, high clarity. I left with a written note and a much better understanding of my options. I ended up proceeding with the divorce representation and found the process less fraught than I had anticipated.

I was responding to a divorce petition and had very little time to prepare. The firm took on the matter quickly and kept me informed at each stage. The billing was exactly as stated — no additions I had not been told about. That matters when you are already managing unexpected costs.

N. Ibrahim
Ampang, Kuala Lumpur
Our matter involved both civil and Syariah considerations, which I was told by others would require two different firms. Adil Chambers handled both. This alone was worth a great deal — coordinating separate practitioners would have added considerably to both cost and confusion.

Situations We Have Helped Navigate
The following are anonymised summaries of the kinds of matters we have handled. Individual circumstances will always differ.
Contested Custody Following a Civil Divorce
Situation
A parent sought to retain primary custody of two children following a contested divorce. The other party had engaged separate legal representation and the matter was heading toward adversarial court proceedings.
How We Helped
We advised on the client's position, prepared supporting documentation, and proposed mediation before filing contested proceedings. A mediator was brought in and a custody arrangement was reached by agreement, with the arrangement documented and filed.
Outcome
Custody arrangement agreed without contested court proceedings. Resolved in approximately four months from initial consultation. Cost remained within the stated arrangement fee.
Syariah Divorce with Cross-Jurisdictional Asset Division
Situation
A client sought a fasakh divorce under Syariah law, with the complication that matrimonial assets included a jointly held civil property and a private company shareholding.
How We Helped
Our Syariah practitioner handled the fasakh application while our civil law practitioner coordinated the property division aspect, engaging a valuer for the company shares. Both streams were managed without the client needing to seek a second firm.
Outcome
Fasakh granted; property division settled by agreement with a clear division of assets. The client avoided the additional cost and complexity of a second legal engagement.
Long-Term Counsel for Blended Family Arrangements
Situation
A client with children from a first and second marriage sought ongoing legal guidance as custody terms, maintenance arrangements, and inheritance planning required periodic attention over several years.
How We Helped
We provided the comprehensive counsel arrangement, with quarterly reviews and on-demand access. Documents were updated as children's needs changed, and we intervened in two custody variation applications over three years.
Outcome
Stable and current legal documentation across all family arrangements. The client retained a single adviser throughout, which reduced duplication and maintained consistency across all related matters.
