2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information that is necessary to provide our services or respond to your enquiries. This may include:

  • Contact details such as name, telephone number, and email address
  • Information about the nature of your legal matter, as you choose to share it
  • Identity documents where required for client verification
  • Billing and payment information
  • Correspondence exchanged with us by any channel
  • Technical data from your use of this website (see Section 8, Cookies)

We do not seek to collect more information than the matter genuinely requires, and we will tell you when a particular piece of information is optional.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used for the following purposes:

  • To respond to initial enquiries and arrange consultations
  • To provide legal services and fulfil our professional obligations to you

  • To send you relevant correspondence related to your matter

We do not use your information for unsolicited marketing communications.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer personal data to third parties for commercial purposes. Information may be shared in the following limited circumstances:

  • With courts, opposing parties, or mediators, where required in the conduct of your matter
  • With third-party service providers who assist our operations (such as cloud storage or billing platforms), subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations
  • Where we are required to do so by Malaysian law, court order, or a regulatory authority
  • With your written consent

Where information is shared with service providers, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled appropriately.

5. Data Retention

We retain client records for as long as required by our professional obligations and Malaysian law. For completed matters, records are generally kept for a minimum of seven years from the close of the file, after which they are securely destroyed.

Enquiries that did not proceed to engagement are held for a shorter period, typically twelve months, unless there is a specific reason to retain them longer.

6. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include access controls, encrypted communications where appropriate, and restricted physical access to client files.

No transmission over the internet is entirely without risk. If you have concerns about sending sensitive information electronically, please contact us to arrange an alternative.

7. Your Rights

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Withdraw consent to the processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Request that we limit processing where you contest accuracy or object to use

To exercise any of these rights, please write to us at [email protected] or by post to our registered address. We will respond within a reasonable time and at no charge for routine requests.
